Confidence Through Health

Breathing is the First Step to Calming Nervous System w/ Matthew Lederman

Episode Summary

Having a properly functioning nervous system is critical to sustaining a healthy body. Most of us live in a fight, flight, or freeze state (sympathetic nervous system state) which can cause damage to our health by delaying the vital functions of our organs. Dr. Matthew Lederman's team has developed the webe kälm device to help people of all ages regulate their nervous system.

Episode Notes

Matthew joins me for another episode to share the work he has been doing around nervous system regulation. He created a device called webe kälm to help people move from the sympathetic nervous system to the parasympathetic nervous system. This allows us to move from a constant reactionary state to one where we are taking calculated actions towards our goals and dreams.

While the sympathetic nervous system has an important place, saving us from immediate danger, we tend to spend far too much time in that state. Learning how to move to the parasympathetic nervous system is vital because it is where we rest & digest, appropriately process emotional nutrients, and take control over what we can control.
